Home Sweet Home

Was looking forward to a nice hot shower (without thongs) but on arrival back home we discovered the hot water system decided to burst whilst we were away so a kettle warmed bath was the best we could muster. Trip went way too quick and just wanted to keep it going. The Hippie Camper was great, purred like a kitten and never skipped a beat its a shame we had to give it back. We are keen to do it again, the sooner the better.

Bye little Hippie Camper Bye..... ;-(

The final Journey Home

So after covering over 3500Km we travel home. On the way we saw this letter box and it would have to be one of the best letter boxes i have ever seen. There is no reason for the postie or anyone to miss this one. I could imagine the owner saying something like this "just look for the Zebra out the front" Yea i could do with one of these i rekon

Thredbo

To the snow we go with no snow gear what so ever, cold? Yes but a nice hot coffee at Thredbo soon warmed us up. A walk around and some snowballs thrown at each other then on our way back home. Too cold to stick around for too long. The vans heater got a good work out.

From Desert to Snow

So from Desert to snow we go. Why? Why not! Some beautiful country side and a very nice drive through the national park. Camped at the bottom of the mountains with nothing more than a camp fire to keep us warm. The fire proved difficult to keep goin as the wood was mostly wet but was enough to keep us warm :-) Opening the van door in the morning looking out and seeing snowcapped mountains towering above us and the crystal clear rapids next to us was amazing stuff and was probably the highlight of the trip for me.

Where to next?

So where to next we ask each other. For some reason Thredbo popped into my head and that quickly became the next destination, some distance away but nothing that we nor the Hippie camper couldn't handle :-) So the wheels roll again and we start hacking away at the K's. Through Mildura and then stopped at a town call Narrandera (i think) for a quick sleep. Best toilets and showers at a caravan park that either of us have stayed at (two thumbs up) I didn't have any boots to leave on this tree but did think about sacrificing a pair of decent shoes....

Broken Earth hmmmmm yummm

Food was great and the view even better. Broken Earth restaurant would have to be one of the nicest in town. I wonder who thought of putting a restaurant on a man made mountain but its pretty cool. They also have a massive park bench outside, or maybe there was some shrinking potion in the food..... who knows but i felt like a little kid all over again

Pro Hart

Galleries arnt really my thing but this was a exception. Very cool gallery with alot of eye opening pieces of art. Worth a look if you are in town. It had a replica of Pro Harts Studio where he created all of his pieces. It looked messy but i guess there was a method to his madness as he created some wonderful pieces. Getting a little thirsty so we jump in the Hippie Camper and head to a 50's style milkshake bar for a choccy milkshake and a flashback into the past :-) mmmmmm delicious
